Wordpress 2

Anyone who knows me will find this entirely unsuprising. I tried to upgrade to wordpress 2, I didn't do a database backup first, I forgot to copy the dark_maple theme to the new wordpress 2 directory and subsequently got very frustrated when wordpress refused to use the dark_maple theme, It doesn't help that upon logging in wordpress told me that the current theme was "invalid", it should have said missing. I got annoyed, tried to downgrade to wordpress 1.6, DUH, no database backup made that very hard. I did a database dump, some judiciously applied sed commands later I had a semi-working wordpress 1.6 install. I tried again today to move to 2.0, however the database was in such a piss-poor state that I did a complete re-install and then "manually" copied over the posts and comments table.

Aside from this, which was entirely my stupid-ass fault, wordpress 2.0 is looking like a very nice upgrade. It's not hardly revolutionary, but it's very nice and at this point it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to re-revolutionize the wordpress blogging platform. Kudos Wordpress dev team.
The use of Ajax is very nice and sleek, i think later I will turn off Javascript and see what happens.
