I, blog was kind of lame. I changed it to "/bin/rm -rf /" bceause I just did that on my laptop before I sent it to apple and it was cool. The laptop actually survived the rm -rf without crashing though it would obviously not reboot. Most of the programs I had running survived spectacularly. Specifically, Safari, terminal, Finder all kept running. However terminal could not create new windows because /bin/bash was missing. Mail reacted somewhat violently after it's directory was deleted. Spewing forth all kinds of errors and equivlent epithets at me. The one scary thing is that I initally ran the rm -rf / as myself and not root. it ran for a good deal of time before it complaned about permissions! in fact, it erased /Applications /Library /Developer and other stuff before I started noticing myriad "permission denied" errors. Scary.
I downloaded and watched all the episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Quite good actually.
I'm waiting for the DHL dude to come pickup my laptop to take it back to apple. It arrived back after the 2nd repeat repair with a non-functional airport again. In fact, the OS does not even recognise the airport at all now. Plus they reformatted it with Jaguar. I totally forgot how much jaguar sucks. It lacks essential unix tools and includes non-standard versions of many of the tools that it does include.
If DHL does not come tonight I think I will kill them, possibly literally.
Ah, DHL Just came. Did I mention I love DHL?
